What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy focuses on helping you recover from injury, manage pain, and move more freely, so you can enjoy a better quality of life. When our bodies aren’t functioning at their best biomechanically, it’s only a matter of time before imbalances or dysfunctions develop. This can result in pain, discomfort, and reduced performance due to improper movement patterns. This is where a Physio can help!
Here at Body Lab, our physios take the time to really understand what is going on with your body so that we can deliver individualised treatment to get you back to functioning at your best. This includes a thorough history and assessment, and treatment may involve a combination of exercise, manual therapy and education.

This will depend on the injury or concern you are coming in for. Generally, the physiotherapist will want to visualise the area to assess your movement. For a lower body injury, you might want to wear shorts or a singlet for an upper body injury.
-
On attending your appointment, please bring any relevant referral letters and test results such as x-rays, MRI scans, pathology and surgical reports. If claiming with Private Health, a Medicare Care Plan or NDIS, please ensure to read the terms and conditions before the appointment.

At Body Lab our Initial Physiotherapy Appointments are 60 minute sessions, with follow ups of either 30, 45 or 60 minutes at your Physiotherapist’s discretion. This is to enable us to provide you with the best quality care and ensure everything gets covered in your session.
-
Your physiotherapist will discuss this at your first session, as it varies greatly depending on the injury/condition you are coming in for.
